It’s been awhile. All I will say about that is that 2012 was
a year best put behind us. But we’re still here and we’re still Nino’s.
I started reading a book last night and had the wonderful
feeling that told me I was going to love it. The book is The Crane Wife by Patrick Ness and I’ve only read a few pages but I
already feel as though this will be one of the many books I carry inside me
forever. There’s a beauty in the writing and it immediately took me to that
magical place that only truly great books can, where you are transported into
the writing but at the same time become more conscious of the tiny wonderful
details around you. I can’t wait to read it but am also enjoying savouring
knowing that it’s there still waiting for me to discover it.
Reading a book like that makes me think about all the
unwritten stories inside me, as well as the four semi-written stories that live
in my computer. Life keeps getting in the way of me telling these stories and I
think it’s partly because I let it. So I’m going to work out which of those
stories most needs to be told and I’m going to find the time to tell it. I
don’t imagine it will be finished for a while as it will have to squeeze into
the tiny holes left after work and study and two lovable dogs and one incredible
husband, but it will be finished one day.
